PLAYING THE GAME

Controls
Use a joystick in port 2.

When you start the game, you will be asked to enter your name, nationality (for example, English), and the continent in which you live (eg. in this case, Britain). The computer prints up the standings after the first, imaginary race. Press fire to start the next one.

The starting lights will show from left to right, but don't try and go before the third light comes on or you will cause a false start. Press and hold down fire to accelerate, with left and right controlling steering.

Hint: Oversteering will slow you down, so a happy medium will bring the best results. Pushing the boost key (forward on a joystick) will give you one burst of extra speed per race which lasts for a little while, use it wisely to get you out of any scrapes.
