"Tips from the Pro"

The instructions for Scott Elder's "Mini-Golf" are quite simple. First, you must select the type of course you want to play. Press the fire button for the standard course or "X" for the expert course. Next, you may select the number of players (one thru four), the number of holes (5 , 9, 13 or 18), the maximum limit of tries per hole (3, 6, 9 or 12) and the speed of play (one thru four.)

As in real life, you have a choice of three tees to set up on. Also, you may select the angle you will strike the ball by moving the joystick left or right. Use the power indicator at the bottom right-hand corner of the screen to measure the force of your swing. The more visible the indication, the stronger the force of the putt.

The scorecard is calculated automatically and displayed between holes. It shows the scores of all players as well as the par rating for each hole. Player one always tees off first, and turns are continuously alternated.

This game includes lakes and blinking bars for obstacles. When the bars are your color, your golf ball will rebound off them. When they are gray, your ball can pass through them. If you land in one of the blue lakes, your ball is automatically placed back on the tee and you must continue from there. At times, you will encounter additional holes which lead to underground, short-cut passages bringing you ever closer to the final hole.

That's all there is to it.

Let's play golf!
